Beside
the central chloroplast hall - a space of light and meditation
- stands its antithesis, a Pandora's box, into which the
negative forces of the past have been compressed and locked
away.
Each selected bunker has a safe which contains historical
documents concerning apects of the Second World War pertinent
to the respective region. A list of contemporary weapons
and conflicts will lie on the upper level. As a reminder
of the historic origin of the Phytobunker, and to costantly
reevaluate of the facts, the safe is displayed once a year.
So as not activate a climate of the hate and the fear, and
to prevent a spiral of violence, the exhibitons are only
open for a limited duration.
The
exhibitions and the bunkers embody the locations of encounter
and exchange. The vocabulary of the forms is organic, and
is inspired by the grana. The walls of the shelter are covered
with green breaking waves, which contain in their centres
the spectrum of peace. The flat roof makes possible the
arrangement of garden terraces.
